2011 / HD Video / 5 min / Short Narrative
Episode 1: Veasna’s Painting was conceived and executed as part of a creative experiment where Sugano would write, shoot and finish a film in a very short amount of time, and do so all in Khmer dialogue. This piece was done in 24 hours from conception to final cut. This film was also a test to see how the local audience would react to visual and narrative realism. The film premiered on the day it was completed to an audience of about 40 people – both Cambodians and ex-pats.
